Vit Nuong - BBQ Duck Nha Trang

Yes, I know BBQ duck is available in many countries, but Dung Linh is genuinely one of the best places I have ever eaten duck, and I have tried roast duck in numerous countries around the world. This is Nha Trang street food at its absolute best—simple, authentic, incredibly popular with locals, and focused entirely on doing one thing exceptionally well.

Located at 29 Phan Chu Trinh, Nha Trang, Dung Linh has built a loyal local following over many years and is often busy from the moment the doors open. According to reviews on Google Maps, diners regularly praise the restaurant for its consistently delicious duck, generous portions, affordable prices, and authentic local atmosphere. It is the kind of place tourists might walk past without noticing, but locals know exactly where to go when they want outstanding duck. The restaurant opens in the late afternoon, usually around 4–5 pm, and continues serving until late in the evening, making it a perfect stop for dinner or a late-night meal.

The real star is the BBQ duck. The ducks are slowly cooked on a rotisserie over hot coals right out on the street, creating an irresistible aroma that drifts through the neighbourhood. As they rotate, they are repeatedly basted with a special sauce that helps develop the rich colour, crispy skin, and incredible flavour. Because the duck is roasted this way, much of the fat renders out during cooking, leaving the meat tender, juicy, and far less greasy than many roast duck dishes you find elsewhere. The balance of smoky flavour, crisp skin, and succulent meat is exactly why locals line up for it night after night.

There is also steamed duck available, which is excellent in its own right, but it is undoubtedly the BBQ duck that draws the crowds. If you arrive in the evening and see tables filled with families, groups of friends, and regular customers ordering plate after plate of roast duck, you will quickly understand why this place has earned such a strong reputation.

We have been regular customers of Dung Linh for years, and it remains one of our favourite places to eat in Nha Trang. Whenever I am feeling a little under the weather, I always order the Cháo Vịt (duck congee). For me, it has the same comforting effect as a bowl of chicken soup—warm, nourishing, restorative, and exactly what you need when you want something soothing. Combined with the flavourful duck broth and tender pieces of meat, it is true comfort food and one of the dishes I look forward to the most.

If you want to experience authentic local dining in Nha Trang, away from the tourist restaurants and full of genuine Vietnamese flavour, Dung Linh is a place that deserves a spot on your list. It may be humble street food, but sometimes those are the meals you remember the longest.
