Local Sea food in Dang Tat Street
In the middle of Dang Tat Street is a seafood place that we like to eat at Hai San Sinh Vien. This area is mainly know for student snail however we eat other seafood and the owner really looks after us. It is street food with locals. The tables are small and we eat on the roadside however there is inside seating but still at small tables. The food is cooked to one side but all fresh.
Before we started eating we had a street vendor selling Quail eggs and peanuts come around and who can resist these great snacks. One bag of each. Peel the eggs and dip in a little salt and pepper mix.
Obviously the price will depend on what you order. We went the other night and had 6 large prawns BBQ'd (on skewers), about 500gm clams steamed in broth with chili, lemon grass and lime, and stirfried sqid with some vegs. This is a delicious dish known as Muc Xao. Cooked with tomato and pineapple it is a sweet and sour dish. In all we paid 257 000vnd but this also included drinks (beers and water).
There is lots of entertainment in the street with singing, sometimes magic and dancing. Obviously watching the world go by is entertaining in itself J
